Dabney McIntyre begins her first year as the NCAA Academic Advisor for Athletics. After spending three years as an assistant coach on the softball team, this full-time position opened and she jumped at the oppurtunity.
In her four seasons at Dixie State, McIntryre started 161 of her 166 career games which ranks 2nd all time. She finished with a career .390 batting average, ranking her 3rd on the all time list. She also finished with only 40 strikeouts in her career, out of 426 at bats, ranking her first in the record books. She finished 9th in the nation in her senior year as toughest to strikeout.
As a Senior in 2009, Dabney was awarded 1st team Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-West Region team and was named to the 1st team All PacWest team while guiding her team to the program's first ever NCAA College World Series appearance.
In 2008 as a Junior, McIntyre helped the Red Storm finish 2nd in their first year of the PacWest Conference and was awarded to the 1st team all PacWest team.
After a medical redshirt in 06, Dabney returned to help the Rebels transition to the Red Storm as Dixie State entered it's first season in 2007 as an NCAA DII school after being a part of the NJCAA since the program started in 1977. The Red Storm finished 35-12 as an independent program in their inaugural season.
As a Freshman, Sundquist helped lead the program back to thier second NJCAA Nationals appearance in three years while being named to the Scenic West Athletic Conference First team as a Freshman and lead the team with a .453 Batting Average.
McIntyre started her Dixie State playing career as a short stop before moving to the outfield towards the middle of her Freshman year where she roamed the remainder of her four year career as one of the top outfielders in the history of the program.
Dabney (Sundquist) McIntyre grew up in Taylorsville, UT and currently resides in Washington, UT with her husband, Drew McIntyre. She graduated from Dixie State College as a Business major.
