At Utah Tech 2025 (Junior): Appeared in six games, making four starts and playing 284 minutes … notched a career-high two assists, including his career first assist, in UT’s 3-0 win over Cal State Bakersfield on Sept. 6 … assisted on UT’s goal in a 3-1 loss to Cal State Fullerton on Sept. 21 … totaled five shots and three shots on goal … a Preseason All-WAC selection.

At Utah Tech 2024 (Sophomore): Named All-WAC Second Team … started all 11 appearances, totaling 689 minutes … scored the first goal in UT’s 2-1 win at UC Riverside (8/29)  … put in the Trailblazers’ lone goal in a 1-1 tie with UT Rio Grande Valley (10/20) … netted a goal in UT’s come-from-behind 3-2 win at Air Force (10/24) … scored the game-winning goal to help the Trailblazers over UNLV 2-1 and earn a spot in the WAC Tournament … tallied four goals, 25 shots, 12 shots on goal, four yellow cards and one red card on the season ... earned academic all-WAC honors.

At Utah Tech 2023 (Freshman): Earned all-WAC Freshman team honors … made 12 appearances, starting seven times … recorded five shots on goal against Sacramento State (8/31) … season-high 83 minutes of action against San Diego State (9/21) … scored in three-straight games, all wins: at UC San Diego (Sept. 23), at UTRGV (Oct. 1) and versus Utah Valley (Oct. 5) … goals against UTRGV and Utah Valley were game-winners … finished the year with 26 shots (18 on goal) across 699 minutes of action ... earned academic all-WAC honors.

More on Samir: Born in Venezuela … parents are Edixon Cuevas and Jetsika Abreu … father Edixon played professional soccer for 20 years in Venezuela and played in the Copa Libertadores ... also recruited by Gonzaga and Denver … favorite team is FC Barcelona … currently majoring in marketing.
