Biography

Is a 2018 Preseason all-RMAC selection … Enters 2018 tied atop DSU’s career assists list (14) and is second all-time in career goals (18), GWG (9), and points (50).

At Dixie State 2019: Earned First Team all-RMAC and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) South Central Region honors … finished the season as the RMAC leader in game-winning goals (6), second in goals (10) and points (26) scored, and t-sixth in assists (6) … all 10 of his goals came in his last 14 matches, including his school record third-career hat trick in DSU's 5-2 result vs. MSU Denver (9/22) … was named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week back on Oct. 28 after he netted three goals, including two game-winners, in the road sweep of Adams State (10/25) and CSU-Pueblo (10/27) … also netted his sixth and final game-winner of the season in DSU's 1-0 result over Westminster College in the RMAC tournament quarterfinal round this past Nov. 7, which helped him earn conference all-tournament honors … closed his storied four-year career in a DSU kit as the program's career leader in goals (33), game-winning goals (15), assists (22), points (88, 33G/22A), and matches played (70) … in all , he owns a combined 16 DSU match, season and career records.
 
At Dixie State 2018: Earned Second Team all-RMAC recognition … started in 15 of the 17 matches he played this season and led the Trailblazers in goal scored (5) and points (12) … became DSU's career assists leader (16) vs. Colorado Mesa (9/16), and in the road rematch at CMU on Oct. 12, vaulted to the top of DSU's career points list (62 pts, 23g/16a).

At Dixie State 2017: Was a First Team All-PacWest and D2CCA West Region pick after a record-breaking season as he set new DSU single-season records for goals scored (12), assists (8) and points (32) ... four of his 12 goals on the year were game-winning scores, while he became just the second player in program history to record two hat tricks in one season, doing so vs. Colorado-Colorado Springs (9/11) and at home against Point Loma (10/24) ... finished the 2017 campaign on a tear as he scored at least one goal in five of his final seven matches of the year, and tallied at least one point in 11 of 17 matches played overall ... his eight assists this season also pulled him into a tie atop DSU’s career assists list (14) … earned Academic All-PacWest honors.

At Dixie State 2016: Was voted PacWest Freshman of the Year and earned first team all-PacWest honors after leading DSU in goals (6) and points (18) and co-led in assists (6) ... played in all 19 matches with no starts ... six of his goals, including five game-winning goals, came in PacWest play, while 16 of his 18 total points overall were tallied in league matches ... his six assists is tied DSU’s single-season record and he scored at least one point in 10 of DSU's 19 matches overall ... was a two-time PacWest Freshman of the Week selection (Oct. 3/Oct. 17) … earned Academic All-PacWest honors.

At Virgin Valley High School: Earned four varsity letters in soccer for the Bulldogs and was a four-time first team all-conference selection ... tallied over 60 goals in his prep career ... graduated in June 2016.

Personal: Born in St. George, Utah ... parents are Joel Medina and Raquel Rico ... favorite athlete is Cristiano Ronaldo … currently majoring in general studies.
