Josh Pittman

Josh Pittman is in his first year as head coach of the DSU Men's Soccer program. Pittman brings over 20 years of soccer experience to the Red Storm as a collegiate player, professional player and long-time coach.

Prior to his arrival to DSU, Pittman spent seven seasons as the head coach at Colorado Mesa, starting the program from the ground up.  He also served as a development academy coach for Major League Soccer's Colorado Rapids, and as the associate head coach at Adams State University.

While at Colorado Mesa, he led the Mavericks to a 2013 RMAC tournament championship and earned bids to the league tournament in 2010, 2012 and 13. He coached 29 all-conference players, five all-region players and one All-American during his tenure. Pittman also had 30 all-academic selections under his tutelage.

Before his tenure at CMU, Pittman was the assistant head coach at Metro State in Denver from 2000-02. He helped lead the Roadrunners to their first ever NCAA postseason berth in 2000 and a No. 11 final NSCAA ranking. Pittman also worked at East Stroudsburg University as a graduate assistant men's coach, helping the team to a 1997 conference championship and another NCAA tournament appearance.

Pittman has also coached and worked in various roles with youth soccer, including time with the Colorado West Select, Grand Junction Soccer Club, Real Colorado and Denver Soccer Club.

He played professional soccer for the Detroit Neon and Detroit Wheels in the CISL and USISL for two seasons following a collegiate career at the University of Massachusetts. He is a 1999 graduate of East Stroudsburg with bachelor's degree in business. He also earned a master's degree in sport management from ESU.

Pittman, his wife Miriel and chihuahua, Leo, reside in St. George.
