Danny Ortiz

Coach Ortiz coached seven seasons as the head coach of the Dixie State soccer program. He was hired in 2008 to lead the Red Storm in its inaugural season. His team has compiled a 36-73-11 record in that time.

Before coming to Dixie State, Ortiz coached both boys and girls teams with several clubs in the Utah Youth Soccer Association. In that time, his teams won several State Cup Championships. He served as Director of Coaching for Utah’s District 4 for five years. He has also served as a Head Coach in Utah Olympic Development Program.

He is currently serving as the Executive Director for the Southern Utah Soccer Association and continues to work with Utah Youth Soccer Association on the State Coaching Education staff and as the Southern Utah ODP Director.

Coach Ortiz and his wife Teresa have been married for 28 years. They have two sons, Jordan who attends Weber State University and Nyle, who graduated at the end of the 2011 fall semester.
