Before Utah Tech: Played three seasons at Southern Virginia, where he earned NCAA Division III PING All-Region and first team all-USA South Conference honors as a junior in 2025-26 … captured medalist honors at the Berry University/Chick-Fil-A Inv’l (10/20-21/25), and finished fourth at the 2026 USA South Championships … prepped at Katy HS, where he was a two-time regional finalist and was listed on the honor roll. 
 
More on Nikko: Born in Katy, Texas ... parents are Jared and Kim Taggart … older brother Jacob was a pitcher on the Utah Tech baseball team for four seasons (2022-25) … is the nephew of former Major League pitcher and Utah Tech Athletic Hall of Famer Brandon Lyon … also recruited by Southern Virginia, Utah Valley, Weber State, Eastern Washington, Wyoming and Boise State ... currently majoring in business management.
