Brock Gilbert wrapped up his first season as the director of academics and video on Utah Tech men's basketball coach staff in 2024-25.

Helping the Trailblazers earn seven wins in his debut season, UT won a pair of home WAC contests over UT Arlington and Tarleton State to open conference play and defeated No. 8 seed Southern Utah, 72-65 in the opening round of the WAC Tournament before falling to WAC regular season champion Utah Valley in the quarterfinals in Las Vegas.

Guard Madiba Owona earned WAC All-Freshman Team honors after appearing in 18 games for the Trailblazers, making eight starts, and finished fifth on the team averaging 8.0 points per game.

Finishing up his two-year career at then-Dixie State in 2022, Gilbert played in 49 career games, making 16 starts, over his two seasons as a Trailblazer. He totaled 92 points in his career tallying 22 points as a junior and added 70 points as a senior.

He dished out a career-high nine assists and added three rebounds in 29 minutes off the bench at then-No. 1 Gonzaga as a junior and made his first start in a win at Utah Valley playing a season-high 30 minutes.

As a senior, Gilbert scored a career-best 10 points and played a career-high 34 minutes at CSUN and went on later in the season to grab a career-high eight rebounds in a win over Bethesda (Calif.) and dished out a season-leading eight assists in wins over St. Katherine and Southern Utah.

Prior to his time at Utah Tech, Gilbert got his start at Umpqua Community College where he made starts in 42 of 58 games over his two seasons as a RiverHawk.

He nearly averaged a double-double as a sophomore in 2020 tallying 9.8 points and 10.9 assists per game along with 6.0 rebounds and 2.2 steals in 28 games to earn All-NWAC South First Team. He recorded a triple-double totaling 19 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists vs. Lane and finished with six double-doubles.

A native of Ogden, Gilbert prepped at Syracuse High School earning four varsity letters and earned First Team All-Region and Second Team All-State honors as a senior averaging 20.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per contest.
