High School: signed with Utah Tech in the fall of 2023 ... went on a two-year mission following high school ... as a senior in 2023-24 at Snow Canyon High School in St. George, earned his second straight Utah Class 4A Player of the Year honors ... led the Warriors averaging 25.6 points, 7.9 rebounds & 3.3 assists per game as the Warriors advanced to the semifinals of the Class 4A UHSAA State Tournament falling to Cottonwood ... ranked fifth in the state & first in Utah Class 4A in points per game ... finished third in Class 4A in free throws made (116), field goals made (199) & fourth in rebounds per game (7.9) ... also led the team in blocks (17), blocks per game (0.8), free throw percentage (86.0), three-point percentage (39.0), points (564), assists (72) & rebounds (174) ... scored in double figures in 21 of 22 games with seven double-doubles ... scored a season-leading 45 points in a narrow two-point win over Mountain View (Feb. 23) & also scored 30-plus points in five more contests ... grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds at Hurricane (Feb. 14) & dished out eight assists in a one-point win against Crimson Cliffs (Feb. 8) ... put together a standout junior season in 2022-23 averaging 24.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists & 1.8 steals per game to earn his first Utah 4A Player of the Year honor ... Personal:Â For Mackay, the decision to sign with Utah Tech came down to a comfort level with the program, "I chose Utah Tech because I simply felt comfortable. The coaches are amazing and the program is truly incredible," he said at the time of his signing.
