Before Utah Tech: Was a two-time Texas 29-6A first team all-district selection at Harlan HS in San Antonio … averaged 10.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals as a senior to help lead the Hawks to a 29-5 overall record, which included 14-2 Region IV District 29 mark … scored in double figures 19 times with three 20-plus point outings, highlighted by a season-high 23 points with seven 3-pointers in a win over Jones HS (55-28) ... hit at least one 3-pointer in 31 of 34 games played during her senior campaign … also earned first team all-district honors as a junior after she averaged 13.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game … lettered in basketball in all four years of her prep career … played for the San Antonio Hoops Elite club team.
 
More on Kastyn: Was born in Kansas … parents are Nick and Mackenzie Young … her father Nick played college basketball at Ottawa University, and her mother Mackenzie ran track collegiately at the University of Kansas … also recruited by UTRGV, UT Arlington and Incarnate Word, among others … currently majoring in general studies.
