Biography
At Utah Tech 2021-22 (COVID-Sophomore): Played in 30 games with 15 starts and averaged 5.6 points on 36.7 percent shooting and 2.8 rebounds … poured in a season-high 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting with three 3-pointers vs. UTRGV (1/22) … went 5-of-8 from the floor for 14 points in the home finale vs. Seattle U (2/26) … reached double figures in points six times, all in WAC play.
At Utah Tech 2020-21 (Sophomore): Started in five of 16 games played in his first season in the Trailblazer program … tied a DSU NCAA-era school record with six 3-pointers (6-of-11 3FG) en route to a career-high 22 points in a start vs. Tarleton State (2/20) … also collected a career-best seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block to go with his six treys … tallied nine points in his DSU debut at Southern Utah (12/17), which was followed two nights later by a 14-point night vs. Bethesda (12/19) … earned Academic all-WAC honors.
At Humboldt State (2019-20): Was named the CCAA Freshman of the Year after averaging 9.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per game … he started in 19 of 27 games, including the Lumberjacks’ final 15 games … shot 45.7 percent from the floor (.374 3FG) and 87.5 percent at the foul line … scored in double figures in 14 games, highlighted by a season-high 19 points at Cal State LA (1/18/20).
At Orange Lutheran High School: Was a three-year varsity captain for the Lancers and was a first team Trinity League and second team all-CIF selection … averaged 11.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists as a senior … was named to Tarkanian Classic all-tournament first team in 2019.
Personal: Born in Long Beach, California … parents are Tony and Karina Pope … father Tony played college basketball at Long Beach State and Seattle U … also recruited by Humboldt State, Sacramento State, Idaho State, North Dakota and Point Loma ... currently majoring in communication.
Why I chose Utah Tech: “I chose Utah Tech because I had heard great things about the school and the teams. The coaches were very inviting and seemed trustworthy. I also knew one the players on the team and made a good case for me to come here.”
