After spending nearly two seasons as a player with the Trailblazer program and two years as a student assistant coach, Brock Staheli finished up his second season as an assistant coach/director of operations in the 2024-25 season.
Helping the Trailblazers earn seven wins in his debut season, guard Madiba Owona earned WAC All-Freshman Team honors after appearing in 18 games for the Trailblazers, making eight starts, and finished fifth on the team averaging 8.0 points per game.
The Trailblazers won a pair of home WAC contests over UT Arlington and Tarleton State to open conference play and defeated No. 8 seed Southern Utah, 72-65 in the opening round of the WAC Tournament before falling to WAC regular season champion Utah Valley in the quarterfinals in Las Vegas.
Staheli played in four career games, all victories, at Utah Tech in the 2019-20 season and recorded two career assists and one steal.
A St. George native, he was a three-sport athlete at Snow Canyon High School, where he lettered in basketball, football and baseball. He helped lead the Warriors to a region crown in 2014 and was an academic all-state selection in all three sports. Â
Brock earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from then-Dixie State in 2021, and finished his master's degree in 2023.
He and his wife Sidney, who played volleyball and basketball collegiately at USU-Eastern, reside in St. George and have a son named Bo.
