Anthony Morris

Anthony Morris wrapped up his fourth season as an assistant coach at his alma mater in the 2024-25 season.

Helping the Trailblazers move into Division I, the Trailblazers have combined for 45 total wins, including 20 WAC victories, with 15 coming at home in Burns Arena in his four seasons on the sideline at UT.

The Trailblazers have combined to earn four postseason All-WAC honors with Hunter Schofield (2022) and Cameron Gooden (2023) notching a pair of honors along with a pair of WAC All-Freshman selections in Aric Demmings (2024) and Madiba Owona (2025).

Prior to his arrival back to St. George, Morris spent the 2020-21 season as an assistant coach at Eastern New Mexico, but that season was canceled due to state COVID-19 protocols.

Morris began his coaching career at Central Baptist College in Conway, Ark., where he served as head coach of the JV program and helped guided the Mustangs’ varsity squad to a 22-11 record during the 2018-19 season, which included a 9-0 start and a top-20 NAIA ranking, and the program’s first AMC Tournament championship and second-ever NAIA national tournament appearance.

Following his time at CBC, Morris joined the staff at PAC-12 member Washington for the 2019-20 season, where he was a graduate assistant and helped coach the players, and assisted in scouting and game day preparations. Morris helped in the rapid progression of Isaiah Stewart and Jaden McDaniels, who both would go on to become first-round selections in the 2020 NBA Draft. Stewart (Detroit Pistons) was selected No. 16 overall after his freshman season, while McDaniels (Los Angeles Lakers) was the 28th-overall pick after his freshman campaign.

Morris played one season at then-Dixie State and was a member of the 2014-15 NCAA West Regional team that went 20-8 and won the Pacific West Conference championship. He played in 25 games for the Trailblazers and was an Academic All-PacWest selection.

Morris graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Utah Tech in 2016, and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Education from Washington. He and his wife, Kaitlan, are the parents of three daughters – Ashton, Hallie and Kobie.
