Biography

Entering 2017-18: Begins his senior season ranked in the top-10 all-time in eight statistical categories, including second in career FT% (.856), third in 3FG% (.426) and 10th in scoring (722).

At Dixie State 2016-17 (Junior): Earned 2016-17 all-PacWest Honorable Mention recognition ... started in all 28 games and finished second among starters (fourth overall) in scoring (11.3 ppg) and second in assists (3.5 apg) ... led DSU in scoring seven times and reached double figures in points in 17 of 28 games played, including a season-high 23 points at Azusa Pacific (12/10) and 21 points vs. Point Loma (12/19) ... hit three or more 3-pointers nine times, highlighted by a career-high tying five treys twice against Cal Poly Pomona (11/12) and at APU (12/10) ... also led the team in assists nine times, including a career-high eight assists in a home win over Western Oregon (11/26) ... earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 honors and was an academic all-PacWest selection.

At Dixie State 2015-16 (Sophomore): Started in nine of 25 games played and scored in double figures in 16 of those outings ... finished third on the team in scoring at 12.4 ppg and shot 45.7 percent (80-of-175) from the floor ... broke DSU's single-season 3FG percentage record (.459; 39-of-85) and shot .880 (110-of-125) from the line, which ranked #3 on DSU's single-season list ... averaged 12.6 ppg over his final 18 games played, including a career-high 24 points with a career-best five 3-pointers in an OT win at Chaminade (1/23) ... also poured in 23 points in a win at Fresno Pacific (2/24), 21 of which came in the second half ... earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 honors and was an academic all-PacWest selection.

Dixie State 2012-13 (Freshman): Appeared in all 29 games off the bench … averaged 3.3 points, 1.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists a game … scored a season-high 15 points on 9-of-10 from the line with a pair of 3-pointers vs. Chaminade (12/3) … shot a team-best .946 from the line (35-of-37) ... earned academic all-PacWest honors. 

At Desert Hills High School: Led the Thunder to three-straight Region 9 titles (2010-12) and a Utah 3A runner-up finish in 2012 … first team all-region honoree … also lettered in football … was an academic all-state selection.

Personal: Born in Omaha, Nebraska … parents are Jeffrey and Rashelle Simister … father Jeffrey played college basketball at Dixie State… favorite team is the Los Angeles Clippers and favorite athlete is Chris Paul … currently majoring in biology with a biomedical emphasis.

Why I chose Dixie State: “I chose Dixie State because of the tradition of winning and the coaches who are here. I enjoy winning and playing with great guys – Dixie State offered both of those things. It’s always a plus to play in the city I grew up in! The local support here is incredible!”
