Entering 2018-19: Begins his senior season ranked 10th in career blocks with 55.
At Dixie State 2017-18 (Junior): Played in 29 of DSU’s 30 games, all off the bench, and averaged 5.9 points and 3.0 rebounds an outing … posted his first collegiate double-double in a win over Eastern New Mexico (11/17) with a career-high 18 points on a perfect 8-of-8 shooting (and 2-of-2 at the line) and a career-best 13 rebounds … also poured in 17 points with two boards at Notre Dame de Namur (1/13) … tallied double figures in six games and shot 59.5 percent from the floor overall … finished with 19 blocks (second on the team) and five steals … earned academic all-PacWest honors.
At Dixie State 2016-17 (Sophomore): Played in 26 games with six starts and averaged 4.8 points and 3.5 rebounds a game … scored in double figures in three outings, highlighted by a season-high 13-point night on 5-of-7 shooting off the bench vs. BYU-Hawaii (2/2) … also scored 12 points in a road start at Academy of Art (1/5) and poured in 11 reserve points vs. Notre Dame de Namur (12/17) … shot 55.2 percent (48-of-87) from the floor and finished with 10 blocks and five steals … earned academic all-PacWest honors.
At Utah 2015-16 (Freshman): Played in eight games off the bench for the Utes … averaged 3.3 points and 1.5 rebounds a game ... shot 76.9 percent (10-of-13) from the floor and 83.3 percent (5-of-6) from the foul line … recorded career highs of eight points and six rebounds vs. Delaware State (12/22) and had six points against both Savannah State (12/16) and Washington State (2/14).
At Lakeview Academy: Was a 2012 and 2013 Region 8-A first team selection and finished his prep career as the Academy’s third all-time leading scorer (1,326 points, 12.5 ppg) ... averaged 20.8 points and 9.0 rebounds as a senior to help lead the Lions to an 18-8 record and a state tournament appearance ... shot 59 percent from the floor and 72 percent from the line and collected 47 steals, 29 assists and 47 blocked shots ... selected to play in the second annual North Georgia All-Star Classic ... grabbed 772 career rebounds and averaged 7.2 rebounds per game for his career ... earned Lanierland Tournament all-tournament team honors and was a 2012 honorable mention All-State pick ... also earned two varsity letters in baseball ... was a National Merit Finalist, Star Student, senior class president and Eagle Scout.
Personal: Born in Bremerton, Washington … parents are Bruce and Alison Montgomery ... father Bruce played basketball collegiately at Georgia State ... also recruited by Utah Valley, Air Force, Holy Cross, Radford and Westminster College … completed a Cancer Genomic Research internship this past summer at Stanford University … favorite team is the Atlanta Braves and favorite athlete is LeBron James … currently majoring in bioinformatics.
