At Colorado 2019-20: Was a member of the Buffaloes’ scout team and did not see any game action.    
 
At Grace Prep High School: Ranked by both 247Sports and ESPN as a 3-star prospect, the latter ranks him as the nation’s No. 92 athlete … earned first-team TAPPS All-State and All-District honors at running back as a senior after he rushed for 1,155 yards on 127 carries and 14 touchdowns … posted five 100-yard plus games during his senior campaign, to go with 11 receptions for 130 yards and another TD to total 1,285 all-purpose yards. 
 
Personal: Born in Carbondale, Illinois … parents are Daniel Sr. and Kenyatta Oats … also recruited by Kentucky and Arkansas State … favorite team is the New Orleans Saints … favorite athlete is Kobe Bryant … currently majoring in communication.
