Before Utah Tech: Began his collegiate career at Palomar College, where he played in eight games and recorded 13 total tackles and 3.0 TFLs … prepped at La Costa Canyon HS and was a three-year varsity starter at defensive end and a 2021 team captain … was a two-time first team all-league and a Dean Spanos All-Star selection as a senior in 2021 … that season he racked up 73 total tackles along with 28 TFLs, 13.0 sacks, 10 forced fumbles and two blocked punts on his way to the “The Rock” team MVP award … was a CIF Section scholar athlete.   

More on Skylar: Born in Sandy, Utah … parents are Larry and Pattie Briggs … wife’s name is Lyndsey … father Larry played football at Utah, while mother Pattie was part of the crew team at San Diego State … also recruited by Weber State, along with several Division II and D-III schools … currently majoring in exercise science.  

Why Skylar chose Utah Tech: "I chose Utah Tech because at first I moved here for my wife before we got married, but eventually made the football team as a walk on.”
