Before Utah Tech: Was a three-year letter winner in both football and baseball at Lehi HS and helped lead the Pioneers to state titles in both sports … earned second team all-region honors after he racked up 43 total tackles, two interceptions and 1.0 TFL during his senior season … finished with 88 career tackles. 

More on Murphy: Born in American Fork, Utah… parents are Eric and Jessica Madsen … father Eric is currently the head baseball coach at Lehi HS, and served as head baseball coach at Utah Valley, where he won over 300 games, and played baseball collegiately at both USU-Eastern and Southern Utah … older brothers McGwire and Mays are members of the Utah Tech baseball team … older brother Maddux is the starting quarterback at Boise State … also recruited by Weber State, Colorado Mesa, Penn and Snow College … favorite team is the Seattle Seahawks ... favorite athlete is Derek Jeter … favorite musician is Tyler Childers … favorite food is seafood ... currently majoring in general studies.
