Before Utah Tech: Was part of the Utah State program for two seasons, but did not appear in any games … was a three-sport letter winner in football basketball and baseball at Dixie High School … earned Utah 4A first team all-state honors as a wide receiver and was named 2021 Region 9 Offensive MVP … hauled in 37 passes for 637 yards and 10 touchdown, and finished the year with 1,185 all-purpose yards … had a pair of 100-yard games during the season as he caught a season-best seven passes for a career-high 145 yards and two touchdowns against Desert Hills HS, and had six catches for 102 yards against Ridgeline HS in the state championship game... had a career-high four touchdown receptions against Bear River HS... added 18 tackles, six interceptions and 11 passes defended on defense.  

More on Ja’Kheo: Born in St. George, Utah … parents are Shawn Mitchell and Saye Tumanuvao … father Shawn played junior college football at then-Dixie State … also recruited by Utah State, Utah, San Jose State, UNLV and Colorado … currently majoring in recreation and sports management.
