Before Utah Tech: Was a three-year letter winner at Tumwater High School, where he helped lead the T-Birds to two Washington Class 2A state championships … earned League Defensive MVP honors and was a two-time first team all-state, all-area and all-league selection at defensive end, and a first team all-area pick at tight end … also won three varsity letters in baseball … earned academic all-conference honors in both football and baseball in all three years.
