Will Harris

Will Harris was named to the Dixie State football staff in January 2015 after one season on the staff at Humboldt State.

In 2014, Harris’ defense at HSU was ranked in the top-10 nationally in total defense and ranked 19th in pass defense. Three of his defensive backs were honored with All-GNAC accolades.

Prior to HSU, Harris coached the defensive secondary at Northwestern Oklahoma State, where he oversaw scheme planning, coaching and development for the Rangers in 2013. Harris also served as an assistant coach with the Snoop League Youth Football Organization in the spring of 2013. Founded by Calvin Broadus, better known as entertainment legend Snoop Dogg, the league helps young players through the teaching of character, integrity, discipline and teamwork gained through playing football.

In 2012-13, Harris assisted on the staffs at both Fullerton College and Diamond Bar High School in southern California.

An All-American product of Covina (Calif.) High School, Harris went to the University of Southern California, where he was a four-year player under head coach Pete Carroll. He appeared in four consecutive Rose Bowl games and the 2009 Emerald Bowl as a player. Harris earned All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention and All-Pac-10 Second Team honors in 2009 after recording 69 tackles and four interceptions in 13 starts for the Trojans. He graduated from USC in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies.

Harris joined the Seattle Seahawks following his graduation. He also played in the Canadian Football League for the Edmonton Eskimos, where he was twice selected as CFL Player of the Week.
