Ty Murphy begins his first season as an assistant on the Trailblazer Football coaching staff ahead of the 2021 spring season after playing one season (2019) as a junior defensive back at DSU.

At Dixie State 2019 (Junior): Played in nine games and collected five total tackles, which included one half sack and an assisted tackle-for-loss ... collected two total tackles in the season opener vs. CSU-Pueblo (9/7).

At Snow College: Played two seasons for the Badgers (2017-18) … NJCAA Academic All-American as a redshirt freshman in 2017 … helped lead the Badgers to an 18-4 record in two seasons, which included a a 2017 El Toro Bowl championship.  

At Chadron State 2016 (Freshman): Sat out the season as a redshirt.

At Falcon High School: Was an all-conference, all-area and all-state selection at quarterback as a junior and senior … racked up 2,674 yards of total offense (1,537 pass/1,137 rush) with 27 total touchdowns as a senior … also lettered in basketball and track …  served as student-body vice president as a junior … member of student council and National Honor Society … listed on the honor roll every semester … graduated in May 2016.

Personal: Born on August 26, 1997 in Albuquerque, New Mexico … parents are Darryl and Tonilyn Murphy ...mother Tonilyn competed in track and field collegiately at Eastern Washington ... sister Toree played college lacrosse at Indiana Tech ...  also recruited by Wagner, Penn, Columbia, Georgetown and Colorado State-Pueblo … favorite teams are the San Francisco 49ers, St. Louis Cardinals and Denver Nuggets ... favorite athletes are Rajon Rondo and Jerry Rice ... currently majoring in business administration.
