Tanner Balderree enters his second season on the Dixie State Football coaching staff in 2020, and is currently serving as a volunteer offensive assistant.
Balderree assisted with a DSU offense that set program records in points per game (34.5) and touchdowns (50) during the 2019 season. The Trailblazers posted a program-best 8-3 record, and placed 10 offensive players on the All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams.

Balderree comes to Dixie State after playing the 2019 season as a tight end with the Salt Lake City Stallions in the Alliance of American Football (AAF).

Prior to his stint in the AAF, Balderree played four years (2014-17) at Brigham Young University, appearing in 35 career games. Balderree enjoyed a breakout year as a junior in 2016, catching 13 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns.

Balderree earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from BYU. He and his wife, Afton, are the parents of one daughter, Adilynn.
