Patrick Moyahan is in his season as the Trailblazers’ new defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach. 

Moynahan reunited with Head Coach Lance Anderson after he had served as an assistant line coach on Anderson’s defensive staff at Stanford for six years from 2017-22.

In 2023 season, Moynahan was the defensive coordinator at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. 

Prior to his tenure at Stanford, Moynahan spent four seasons at Kenyon University as linebackers coach and as an assistant track and field coach. He served one season as a defensive assistant coach at Boise State in 2022-23.

Moynahan played four seasons at Davidson, where he was a two-time all-Pioneer League selection and broke single-season (122) and single-game (22) tackle records during his senior season in 2012. 

Through his four years at Davidson, Moynahan started in 33 straight games at middle linebacker and earned three varsity letters.

Coach Moynahan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Classics from Davidson (2013) and a Master’s of Liberal Arts from Stanford in 2022. He and his fiance, Shannon, reside in St. George.
