Biography

Entering 2020: Was named to the Phil Steele 2020 Preseason FCS Independent Team.

At Dixie State 2019 (Junior): Enjoyed a stellar junior campaign that saw him haul in 23 catches for 354 yards and team-high tying seven touchdowns on his way to first team all-RMAC and D2CCA All-Super Region 4, and Don Hansen third team All-Super Region 4 accolades ... led all region tight ends in receptions, yards and TDs ... posted two 80-plus yard outings, highlighted by a 107-yard day with two scores vs. Black Hills State (10/5), and a three touchdown game and 83 yards on six catches vs. ASU (11/16).

At Snow College: Played two seasons (2017-18) for the Badgers … caught 33 passes for 314 yards and three touchdowns as a sophomore … earned WSFL honorable mention honors ... helped lead the Badgers to an 18-4 record in two seasons, which included a a 2017 El Toro Bowl championship.  

At Taylorsville High School: Earned four varsity football letters … garnered All-State honorable mention honors … academic All-Region and All-State selection … also played basketball and rugby … graduated in May 2017.

Personal: Born in Salt Lake City, Utah … parents are Steve and Dawn Hess ... father Steve played college football at the University of Redlands … also recruited by Adams State, Colorado Mesa, Arizona Christian, Western Colorado, Kansas Wesleyan and Midland … favorite team is the Las Vegas Raiders ... favorite athlete is LeBron James ... currently majoring in communication.
