Biography

At Dixie State 2018: Collected third team all-PacWest honors after batting .327 with 11 doubles, one home run, 23 RBI and 31 runs scored … played in 37 games with 29 starts and started at six different positions overall, including a season-high nine starts at both third base and right field … hit safely in 27 of 37 games played with six multi-hit games, and finished the season with an eight-game hitting streak … belted his first collegiate home run as part of a two-hit, three-RBI night in a 13-3 home win over Fresno Pacific (4/5) … earned Academic All-PacWest honors … 2017: Played in six games off the bench and went hitless in six at-bats … earned Academic All-PacWest honors … 2016: Came off the bench to play in four games and went hitless in five at-bats with one RBI … drove in his first collegiate run at Academy of Art (3/15) … earned Academic All-PacWest honors.

At Del Oro High School: Earned three varsity letters in baseball … helped lead the Golden Eagles to a first place SFL finish and earned SFL honorable mention recognition as a junior … hit .392 with seven doubles two home runs and 15 RBI in his senior season and struck out just once … was named team MVP and collected first team all-SFL and all-Metro honorable mention honors … is a lifetime member of the California Scholarship Federation (CSF) and earned Magna Cum Laude honors … was presented with the Steffen Ohland Memorial Scholarship, which is given to a DOHS senior athlete who most resembles the work ethic and passion of the award’s namesake.

Personal: Born in Roseville, California … parents are Kevin and Johanna Raymond ... favorite team is the San Francisco Giants … favorite player is Buster Posey … also recruited by UC Davis, Willamette University, Yuba College, Albion College, Sierra College, Butte CC, and Santa Barbara City College ... was one of five college students nationally chosen to receive a $4,000 scholarship from the 2016 Brandes Investment Partners Scholarship Program … currently majoring in finance.

Why I chose Dixie State: “I chose Dixie State because I wanted to explore southern Utah while getting an affordable education and being a part of a highly competitive baseball program.”
