At Utah Tech 2024: Appeared in 12 games out of the bullpen and struck out nine in 11.1 IP … struck out two in appearances vs. CSUN (2/25), at Oklahoma State (3/6), and vs. Sacramento State (3/16) … earned academic all-WAC honors.  
 
At Utah Tech 2023: Made 19 relief appearances and finished with an 0-3 record with 27 strikeouts in 26.1 IP … struck out a season-high five in 3.1 innings of one-hit relief at California Baptist (4/2) … hurled two hitless innings with four punch outs vs. Stephen F. Austin (3/24) … recorded at least one strikeout in 15 of 19 outings … earned academic all-WAC honors.  
 
At Utah Tech 2022: Appeared in 15 games with one start and finished with an 0-2 record … made his collegiate debut at Arizona State (2/20), against which he struck out three in 1.1 spotless innings … enjoyed his finest outing at nationally-ranked Arizona (3/1), where he fanned a career-high nine in five innings of one-hit relief … followed that up with five more punchouts in 2.1 scoreless innings vs. Utah Valley (3.6) … finished with 26 strikeouts in 20.2 IP … earned academic all-WAC honors.
 
At Seven Lakes High School: Was a three-year varsity letter winner in baseball for the Spartans … earned Texas 6A first team all-district honors during his senior campaign and was voted Most Valuable Pitcher … also lettered in golf … was a first team academic all-state selection. 

More on Jacob: Born in Taylorsville, Utah … parents are Jared and Kim Taggart … is the nephew of former Major League pitcher and Utah Tech Athletic Hall of Famer Brandon Lyon … also recruited by Utah Valley … favorite team is the Houston Astros … favorite player is his uncle Brandon Lyon ... currently majoring in finance.
