Entering 2017: Was named PacWest Preseason Player of the Year and was voted to the preseason all-conference team … also Earned preseason NCBWA Third Team All-American and first team all-West Region honors … is Dixie State’s career hits leader (217) and is ranked second all-time in runs scored (143), fourth in batting (.351), fourth in games started (153), sixth in games played (155), seventh in doubles (29) and ninth in RBI (87).

At Dixie State 2016: Was a First Team all-PacWest and D2CCA and NCWBA West Region selection … led DSU in hitting with a .408 average with five home runs, 43 RBI, 54 runs scored and a DSU single-season record-tying 15 stolen bases … also broke DSU's single-season (91) and career (217) hits record and became the first DSU player to collect 200 career base hits, doing so with a solo home run vs. Hawai'i Pacific (4/22) ... hit safely in 47 of 54 games played with 30 multi-hit games and posted hitting streaks of 13, 11 and 10 games on the season … also reached base safely in 49 of 54 games … 2015: Earned First Team all-PacWest honors after finishing third on team in hitting at .313 with seven doubles, one home run, 22 RBI and 42 runs scored … started in 49 of 50 games played … stole five bases in seven attempts … posted 19 multi-hit games with seven three-hit games …  2014: Started in 49 of 51 games played … earned second team all-PacWest recognition after hitting .325 with 47 runs scored, eight doubles, one triple, one home run and 22 RBI … slugged .389 with a .397 on-base percentage … drew 24 walks and one hit by pitch … posted 21 multi-hit games, including a pair of four-hit efforts against Colorado Mesa (2/14) and UH-Hilo (3/29) … batted .308 in 32 conference games, with 14 RBI and 30 runs scored …  had a season-long 14 games hit streak from March 15-April 18 … 2013: Sat out the season as a redshirt.

At Desert Mountain High School: Helped lead the Wolves to a state runner-up finish in his sophomore year … captured all-region honors as a junior after batting .340 … was named all-city as a senior.

Personal: Born in Scottsdale, Arizona … parents are Pat and Brenda McLaughlin … father Pat played baseball collegiately at California (Pa.) … favorite team is the Pittsburgh Pirates … also recruited by several Arizona JCs… currently majoring in criminal justice.
