Trevor Amicone begins his first season as assistant coach and camp coordinator for the Dixie State Baseball program.
Prior to his arrival at DSU, Amicone served as head baseball coach at Woods Cross High School in Bountiful, Utah, where he went 48-12 overall and 31-1 in region play. The Wildcats won two region championships in Amicone’s two seasons at the helm and finished fifth in the state both seasons.
Amicone’s Wildcat teams set Utah state records for single-season runs scored (330 in 30 games), single-season hits (372), single-season stolen bases (115), single-season extra base hits (104), single-season doubles (71), team batting average (.435), and single-season shutouts (9). In Amicone’s first year at Woods Cross, the Wildcats became the first Utah team to go 4-0 in the prestigious Anaheim Lions tournament. That Woods Cross team also set the school record for wins, going 25-5 overall in 2015.
Amicone also spent one season as an assistant coach at Bountiful High School in 2014, and helped lead the Braves their first state baseball championship in 26 years. He has been on four state championship coaching staffs and worked within the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim minor league system on and off for several years. He has worked privately with hitters at the professional, college, high school, and youth levels.Â
