Former Trailblazer Jake Schulz is in his second season on the Utah Tech coaching staff, serving as the program’s outfield coach, assistant offensive coach and camp coordinator.
A native of Prescott, Arizona, Schulz played three seasons at Utah Tech under head coach Chris Pfatenhauer from 2020-22, appearing in 51 career games as an infielder. He later continued his collegiate playing career at Concordia University Irvine, where he finished his career in 2024.
Following his playing career, Schulz returned to his native Arizona to begin his collegiate coaching career at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. There, he worked primarily with the program’s hitters and infielders while assisting with other areas of the program.
In the summer of 2025, Schulz served as the hitting coach for the Wausau Woodchucks of the Northwoods League. Under his direction, the Woodchucks’ offense led the Northwoods League in both batting average and doubles while helping the club capture a second-half division championship.
Jake returned to Utah Tech to join the Trailblazers’ coaching staff, where his responsibilities include working with the outfielders, hitters and coordinating Utah Tech Baseball camps.
Schulz earned his bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Sports Management from Utah Tech in 2025.
