At Utah Tech 2022: Led the Trailblazer staff with a UT single-season record tying 15 starts in 16 total appearances and finished with a staff best 7-4 record … his seven wins are t-9^th on UT’s single season list … won five of his first six decisions, including a 4-0 start in WAC play … fanned a career high seven in consecutive home decisions vs. North Dakota State (2/26) and Utah Valley (3/5) … finished second on the staff with 61 strikeouts in 74.2 IP. 
 
At Utah Tech 2021: Appeared in 16 games and finished with a 2-0 record … started in six of his final seven appearances … earned his first collegiate win in G3 vs. Utah Valley (5/1), against which he scattered five hits and two runs with three strikeouts … fanned a season-high four over 5.1 IP in a win vs. Northern Colorado (5/21) … finished with 25 strikeouts in 44.0 IP.     
 
At Tooele High School: Earned first team all-region and honorable mention all-state recognition after he led the region in strikeouts during his junior season, also while batting .370. 

Personal: Born in Red Bluff, California … parents are Eric and Kathy Porthan … also recruited by Kansas, St. Mary’s, UC Riverside and Salt Lake CC ... favorite team is the St. Louis Cardinals ... favorite player is Jordan Hicks ... currently majoring in business communication.
