2020 DUGOUT CLUB SPRING KICK-OFF WEEKEND ONLINE PAYMENT INFORMATION

Dear Friends of Dixie State Baseball,

My name is Chris Pfatenhauer and I am beginning my eighth season as the Head Baseball Coach at Dixie State University. I would like to tell you a little bit about our program and how your financial support will help our baseball program.
16016
We have a rich baseball tradition at Dixie, with many Junior College World Series appearances and a Junior College National Championship in 2004. While we have had three players play in the Major Leagues and a number of players sign professional baseball contracts, we also have many previous student-athletes that have moved on to become highly productive citizens in both their personal and professional lives; becoming doctors, attorneys, engineers, teachers, business owners, and various other professions.

Thirteen years ago, Dixie State moved from the Junior College level to the NCAA Division II level. In 10 of the past 11 seasons, the Trailblazers have posted 30+ win seasons, won four conference championships, and 16017qualified for six NCAA Regional Tournaments. The program continues to grow, and with continued support of people like your self, we can continue to be one of the most successful Division II programs in the country.

We are now in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, which includes eight schools from Colorado and one in New Mexico. With more demanding travel in the new conference, comes additional strains on our budget and that is where hopefully you can help. Each year’s spring travel schedule takes a burden on our budget, as does many facility improvements we continue to make at Bruce Hurst Field. We are continuing working towards adding a roof to the batting cage structure and adding field turf to the warning track areas. Improvements to Bruce Hurst Field will
continue year in and year out.

In January of 2019, it was announced that DSu will be making the jump to NCAA Division I status and joining the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). On July 1, 2020, that move will be made and complete. With that move, there will be higher demands on our student-athletes, our coaches and our entire program. It will be paramount that we have your support to make this transition as seamless as we can for our program. Please join us for this exciting endeavor.

I cannot emphasize how much every dollar means to our program, so we decided to commit our time and energy to a 3 year at a time plan of raising $100,000.00, of which over $155,000 was raised in the past three 16019years. With the success from the past three years, we are hoping to eclipse $175,000.00 in the next three-year stretch. This amount will allow us to travel first rate, help to take care of player’s gear, equipment, and uniform needs. Our efforts include: the Dixie State Baseball Dugout Club, the Seventh-Annual Spring Kickoff Weekend, the continued “Alumni Clubhouse” project, Box Seat Sales, and special game promotions.

Please contribute to the Dixie State Baseball Family by becoming a member of the Dugout Club today. Your financial help will go directly towards scholarships, facility improvements, and travel related costs. By donating, you will receive a package form the Dixie State Baseball Family. We truly appreciate you taking the time to read this and also thank you in advance for considering a donation.

Sincerely,
Chris Pfatenhauer
Head Baseball Coach
