General Criteria
UTAH TECH UNIVERSITY ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME
The Athletic Hall of Fame shall be open to individuals who have made outstanding contributions in one of the following areas:

A superior competitor
A teacher-coach with a distinguished record
A person who has made a long-term, exemplary contribution to Dixie State/Utah Tech Athletics
A team that has excelled and represented Dixie State/Utah Tech on a national level

Specific Criteria

The candidate must be of good character and reputation
A former student-athlete shall be first eligible for nomination five full academic years after completing his / her athletic eligibility at Dixie State/Utah Tech.
Nominee must have had significant impact in his / her sport; defined as being National Player of the Year, NCAA/NJCAAChampion – Individual sport, All-American, All-Region, Conference Player of the Year, All-Conference, conference record holder, conference champion, school record holder, national statistical champion, or letter in at least two different varsity sports.
Community involvement and citizenship.
Individuals must have represented in a positive fashion both as an undergraduate and as an alumnus.
Coaches and administrators are eligible for admission to the Hall of Fame five years after leaving employment at Dixie State/Utah Tech. (Deceased candidates become eligible immediately).
Additional consideration will be given for continued contributions to society through community activities, performance in chosen fields which bring credit and distinction to Dixie State/Utah Tech.
Have made an excellent record in some branch or branches of intercollegiate sport while in attendance at, and / or subsequent to, attending Dixie State/Utah Tech.
Members of the Utah Tech University Hall of Fame in the Athletics category that are not members of the Athletics Hall of Fame will automatically be considered nominees each year until they are admitted
Nominees from the previous year will be automatically considered by the committee.
Nominations can be submitted on their behalf detailing the special nature of their contributions.
Nomination forms will be made available through the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics online at www.utahtechtrailblazers.com.

Outstanding Contributors
Individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the athletic program shall be eligible to be elected to the Hall of Fame. These individuals need not be graduates nor do they need to have been athletes.

Have conducted themselves in a fashion such as to bring credit for a minimum of five years
Respected alumni who bring favor to their alma mater and to Dixie State/Utah Tech Athletics by achieving success in their area, as alumni are eligible for induction consideration five years after their graduation
Special admittance will be made only in recognition of truly exceptional contributions and service to the athletic program
Nominations can be submitted on their behalf detailing the special nature of their contributions

Nomination Submittal
Nominations must contain the information that follows. An online nomination form is available for convenience.

Name of nominee
Graduation class year
Nominee’s sport(s)
Nominee’s address, e-mail address and phone number
List special honors, facts, figures, anecdotes, or other material that may be of assistance to the Selection committee
Name of person submitting nomination with contact information (phone, e-mail, address, etc.)
Nominations may be submitted to the committee chair at any time, by any interested party, however, only the nominations received by the committee chair shall be considered at the annual selection meeting
A nomination shall be accompanied by supplying evidence of the nominee’s eligibility for election and shall specifically describe how the nominee meets the eligibility criteria
All eligible nominations and the respective nominees’ credentials shall be communicated in writing to the committee membership, along with the notice of the selection meeting, as far in advance of that meeting as possible
Any previous nominees that were not selected will automatically be considered for three years, after which they must be re-nominated if not selected
No restrictions on who may submit a nomination, but an individual must be nominated by someone other than himself or herself

The Hall of Fame Committee
The Hall of Fame Committee shall be composed of two members from the Utah Tech Trailblazer Club, one of whom will be the Club President (or other designee) and the other will be appointed by the President; the Director of Athletics (chairperson of the committee); the Associate Athletic Director for Academic Services and Student-Athlete Welfare; and the Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations.

Selection
The committee shall meet to review and select nominees for Hall of Fame membership during the fall of each academic year.
Voting will be by secret written ballot with selection based upon a two-thirds majority of present committee members.

Induction Ceremony

A dinner will be held to honor the inductees
Former teammates of the inductees will be informed of the induction ceremonies and invited to be present

Number of Inductees

No more than four living inductees will be honored annually
Posthumous inductees will be considered as well

TEAMS OF FAME
The Hall of Fame has the option to give recognition to a team, as a group, for their accomplishments in a particular season:
This is to honor the team and may not qualify for individual induction. Must wait at least ten years after season of competition before consideration will be given and qualify in one of the following areas:

A varsity-level team that wins a NCAA/NJCAA Championship, or competed in an NCAA/NJCAA sponsored championship event shall be eligible for nomination
Has completed an undefeated season
Has otherwise brought recognition and honor to Dixie State/Utah Tech by its significant achievement may be recognized as a Team of Fame

The team concept would supersede any individual while at the same time does not prohibit an individual from being inducted into the Utah Tech Athletics Hall of Fame by his or her own right.
