Biography
Became the second Trailblazer to be awarded the No. 3 jersey ahead of the 2021 Fall Season in honor of the memory of former DSU football player Abraham Reinhardt (1995-2019).
At Utah Tech Fall 2021 (COVID Junior): Started in 10 of 11 games played and led the Blazer defense with 36 assisted tackles and finished second overall in both solo stops (58) total tackles (94) … also recorded a team-best 9.5 TFLs, including 2.0 sacks, to go with two QBHs and one forced fumble … recorded 11 or more tackles three times, highlighted by a season high 17 stops (8 solo) at Montana (10/9) … also collected 11 tackles against both Sacramento State (9/4) and at Delaware (10/30) ... earned Academic All-WAC honors.
At Utah Tech Spring 2021 (Junior): Started in all four games he played in during the spring campaign and led the team in total tackles (39) and solo stops (20) … tied a DSU single-game record with 19 tackles at New Mexico State (3/7), including a team game-high 2.5 TFLs and a forced fumble against the Aggies … also finished with one sack and one fumble recovery.
At Utah Tech 2019 (Sophomore): Played in all 11 games with eight starts ... garnered honorable mention all-RMAC honors ... finished t-second on the team in total tackles with 71 (33 solo stops) and collected 6.0 tackles for loss with one sack ... also tallied three quarterback hurries and one pass break up ... recorded a team and career-high 16 total tackles (5 solo) at Colorado School of Mines (11/9), and registered nine tackles with six solo stops vs. Chadron State (10/26).
At Utah Tech 2018 (Freshman): Played in all 11 games … posted 20 tackles (3.0 TFL) and three pass breakups … blocked one punt.
At Murrieta Valley High School: Earned All-League honors … recorded 126 tackles with 12.0 tackles for loss as a senior … logged 1.5 sacks and one interception … graduated in May 2018.
Personal: Born in Leone, American Samoa … parents are Faleoloa and Peata Malaki ... is engaged to former Trailblazer women’s volleyball player To’a Faleao … favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers ... favorite athlete is Ryan Shazier ... currently majoring in communication.
