At Dixie State 2016-17 (Junior): Earned 2016-17 all-PacWest Honorable Mention recognition ... started in 22 of 28 games ... averaged 10.8 ppg as a starter over his final 19 games and led DSU in scoring three times with 10 double-figure scoring outings, including a career-high 20 points at Azusa Pacific (12/10) and 19 points vs. California Baptist (2/11) ... enjoyed his finest outing of the year at Hawai’i Hilo (2/16) as he went 6-for-6 with four 3-pointers en route to 18 points in a DSU win … earned academic all-PacWest honors. 

At Dixie State 2015-16 (Sophomore): Played in 12 games off the bench ... averaged 1.8 points and 0.4 rebounds a game ... shot 50.0 percent (6-of-12) from the field and 57.1 percent (8-of-14) from the line ... scored a season-high five points vs. Academy of Art (2/11) and at Holy Names (2/20) ... earned academic all-PacWest honors.

At Southern Utah 2014-15 (Freshman): Played in four games off the bench for the Thunderbirds … averaged 2.3 points, 0.3 rebounds and 0.5 assists … scored a season-high seven points vs. Northern Arizona (1/31) on 3-of-3 shooting … was an academic all-Big Sky Conference selection.

At Cedar High School: Earned three varsity starter for the Redmen ... was a first team all-state 3A selection and led Redmen to a third-place state finish … named Region 9 MVP and led the region in scoring as a senior at 18.0 ppg ... member of the National Honor Society ... graduated with a 3.9 GPA.

Personal: Born in Cedar City, Utah … parents are Ken and Jeanine Nielson … wife’s name is Amanda ... favorite team is the San Antonio Spurs and favorite athlete is Kobe Bryant … currently majoring in criminal justice.
