Biography

Entering 2017: Earned preseason NCBWA Honorable Mention All-American and first team all-West Region honors.

At Dixie State 2016: Was named PacWest Newcomer of the Year and earned second team all-PacWest and D2CCA honors … broke DSU's single-season record for wins with 10 (10-1) and became the first pitcher in the program's NCAA-era to win his first nine decisions overall … made 14 appearances overall with 12 starts and posted a 3.59 ERA and held opposing hitters to a .357 average … finished second on the staff with 72 strikeouts in 77.2 innings pitched and recorded six or more strikeouts in seven of 14 appearances overall … struck out a career-high eight in a win over Montana State Billings (2/12) and matched it with eight Ks in 6.1 IP vs. California Baptist (3/4) … was named PacWest Pitcher of the Week (4/4) after he pitched a combined 9.1 shutout innings en route to two wins over Hawai'i Hilo (3/28) and Fresno Pacific (4/2).

At College of Southern Idaho 2015: Went 9-3 with five complete games and a 2.33 ERA in 14 starts for the Golden Eagles … held opposing hitters to a staff-low .214 batting average and struck out 83 in 92.2 IP ... 2014: Made 17 appearances with eight starts and finished the year with a 2-7 mark and a 4.09 ERA … fanned 59 batters in 55 IP.

At Richland High School: Was a two-sport athlete for the Bombers … was a four-year letter winner and two-time all-state selection in baseball and helped lead the team to a league championship and a state runner-up finish as a freshman … also played basketball and earned league MVP honors and all-state recognition as a senior when he led the Bombers to a league title.

Personal: Born in Richland, Washington … parents are Max and Kay Hilty… favorite team is the Seattle Mariners … also recruited by Lewis-Clark State and College of Idaho ... currently majoring in exercise science.
