TRAILBLAZERS HEAD TO TEXAS FOR FINAL REGULAR SEASON ROAD SERIES
The Trailblazers travel to Tarleton State this weekend for their final road series of the regular season.
The Tarleton Softball Complex will also be host of this year's WAC Tournament on May 6-9.
TRAILBLAZERS SWEPT AT HOME AGAINST MAVERICKS
The Trailblazers are coming off a tough home series last weekend against UT Arlington falling to the Mavericks in all three contests.
After leading 4-1 through five innings in game one against UTA, the Mavericks reeled off 14 unanswered runs to win 15-4, fell 12-1 in five innings in game two and battled tough in the series finale on Saturday dropping a 9-4 contest.
ABOUT THE TARLETON STATE TEXANS
Tarleton State is 31-17 overall on the season and enters the weekend one game behind California Baptist for first in the WAC regular standings with a 9-3 mark in conference play.
The Texans, who travel to North Texas tonight to take on the Mean Green, are 15-8 at home on the season and have won six of their last seven at home dating back to April 2.
Tarleton State has won three of their four WAC series sweeping their last two conference series at Utah Valley last weekend and at home against Southern Utah. The Texans won two of three games against Abilene Christian and opened WAC play dropping two of three contests at UTA on March 27-28.
As a team, the Texans are hitting .323 and average 6.4 runs per game to rank second in the WAC. Tarleton is second in the conference smacking 37 home runs along with a .418 on-base percentage and is fourth in the league notching 68 doubles.
Junior infielder Addison Wittram leads the Texans hitting .364 and freshman outfielder Mikayla Wilson is second on the team with a .358 average & fourth in the WAC in base knocks with a team-leading 54 hits.
In the circle, the Texans are second in the WAC in ERA (4.68) and allowing 5.1 runs per game while opponents are hitting .301.
Sophomore pitcher Shelby Shultz, the preseason WAC Pitcher of the Year & Preseason Co-WAC Player of the Year, leads the conference in wins (14), complete games (11) and third in strikeouts (94) & innings pitched (121.0).

- The Trailblazers are 1-1 all-time in Stephenville against the Texans splitting a pair of games in 2024 with the series finale canceled due to rain.

The Trailblazers are 3-9 after four WAC series and currently in a tie for sixth in the WAC along with Abilene Christian.
Looking to secure a top six spot in the regular season standings for a spot in the WAC Tournament on May 6-9, the Trailblazers close out the regular season next weekend hosting Abilene Christian.

Pappas has entered or nearing the top 10 in four different single season categories ranking third in slugging percentage (.869), fourth in batting average (.453), tied for sixth in doubles (17) and is seventh in total bases (119).
Senior Lakaiya-Braessia Kahahawai-Kekona is nearing the top 10 in career hits (188, 7 away), at-bats (551, 7 away), doubles (36, 3 away), runs scored (122, 7 away) & walks drawn (61, 6 away).
Kahahawai-Kekona is tied for sixth all-time in stolen bases (45) and Sadie Phillips is eighth (44).
