TRAILBLAZERS MAKE WAY TO UTAH VALLEY FOR WAC OPENER 
The Trailblazers open their sixth and final season of WAC play this weekend getting conference action started at Utah Valley with a single game on Friday and a doubleheader on Saturday.

UTAH TECH IN OPENING WAC SERIES
The Trailblazers is 3-2 in opening WAC series with series wins in 2022 (2-1 vs. Utah Valley), 2023 (3-0 at Abilene Christian) and 2024 (2-1 vs. ACU).

The Trailblazers went 1-2 in both 2021 & 2025 going 1-2 vs. California Baptist & 1-2 at UT Arlington, respectively.

The Trailblazers have won their last three WAC openers defeating Abilene Christian in 2023 & 2024 and UT Arlington, 3-1 last season.

ABOUT UTAH VALLEY WOLVERINES
Utah Valley is 17-8 overall on the season riding a four-game winning streak and opened their home schedule on Tuesday with a 9-1 win in five innings over Weber State.

The Wolveries are 10-4 at neutral site and 6-4 on the road this season and are coming off a 18-33 overall record in 2025.

UVU was picked fourth in the WAC preseason poll and senior infielder Britney Moreno was selected to the preseason All-WAC team.

As a team, the Wolverines lead the WAC in batting average (.361), doubles (48), scoring (6.92) & slugging percentage (.551) and are second in ERA (4.61), hits (250) & stolen bases (40).

Moreno ranks second in the WAC in batting average (.425) and is third in hits (37) & stolen bases (10) and fourth in slugging percentage (.678).

Emma Haygood and Tatum Hall are also each hitting over .400 with Haygood smacking a team-leading five home runs and driving in 25 RBIs.

Sophomore Lily Riley leads the WAC in wins (10) & ERA (2.07) while ranking second in innings pitched (71.0) & strikeouts (56).

• vs. Utah Valley - 9-9 (2021, 2022, 2023, 2025)
• The Trailblazers are only 2-7 on the road at Utah Valley, but 7-2 at home.
• UT's two wins over UVU on the road came in 2021 (15-4 in 5 inn.) & 2022 (7-6)

WHERE THE TRAILBLAZERS RANK IN THE WAC
The Trailblazers rank third in the WAC in batting average (.289) and are fifth in scoring (4.61) & runs (129).

Individually, Kinley Pappas leads the conference in batting average (.432), doubles (11), triples (4), slugging percentage (.818), total bases (72) and is second in hits (38).

In addition to Pappas, Sadie Phillips (.358), Gabi Giroux (.356) and LB Kahahawai-Kekona (.319) are all hitting above .300 on the season.

TRAILBLAZERS COMING OFF SHOWING AT TRAILBLAZER CLASSIC
The Trailblazers went 0-3 over the weekend at the Trailblazer Classic hosted at Karl Brooks Field falling 10-1 in five innings to BYU along with a pair of contests against Omaha.

The Trailblazers took a 5-1 lead after four innings in the first contest against the Mavericks, but four runs by Omaha tied up the score and forced extra innings where they won in eight innings.

Omaha won the second contest between the two teams on Saturday, 12-2 in five innings.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN
Utah Tech is 201-149 overall on the road in the NCAA era.

The Trailblazers are 179-128 on the road under Simkins.
