How It Happened vs. BYU
A five-run first inning for the Cougars got BYU out to a quick lead and a two-run RBI single & a sacrifice fly in the second pushed the lead to 8-0.
A leadoff single by
Gabi Giroux was followed by a walk to Sanderson to start the bottom of the second.
Howley followed driving home pinch-runner Caldwell from second base with an RBI single to left, but that was all the offense the Trailblazers could get going as 12 of the next 13 batters were retired to end the contest.
The Cougars scored one run apiece in the fourth and fifth to complete the run-rule victory.
How It Happened vs. Omaha
The offense got going much earlier in the second contest for the Trailblazers scoring a pair of runs in the first and tacking on one more in each of the second, third and fourth innings.
Building a 5-1 lead after four innings, the Trailblazers scored each of their first four runs on RBI single by Pappas, Howley,

A pair of long balls by Omaha tied the contest at five through six innings as the Mavericks got a solo home run in the fifth before adding a three-run shot by Katherine Johnson in the sixth.
A scoreless seventh pushed the contest to extra innings for the first time this season for the Trailblazers.
Omaha quickly scored in the eighth after a runner started at second, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and came home to score on a sacrifice fly.Â
The Trailblazers were unable to counter as a bunt attempt by Pappas was popped up before the contest finished with a double play on a line out by Giroux.
