(St. George, Utah - Feb. 5, 2026) - The Trailblazers extended their winning streak to four games on Thursday night surviving a double overtime thriller defeating UT Arlington, 87-84 at Burns Arena.
Utah Tech (14-11, 7-4 WAC) was led by a career-high 22 points by
Chance Trujillo, who nailed the game-winning three-pointer in the final seconds of the contest.
Trujillo finished 9-of-13 shooting from the field, went 4-of-7 from three-point range and added five rebounds.
Senior guard
Jusaun Holt tallied 20 points, notched seven rebounds and four assists while playing a team-high 44 minutes.
Three more Trailblazers notched double figures getting 18 points from
Ethan Potter to go along with 12 points & six rebounds in 10 minutes off the bench by
Dario Domingos.
Noah Bolanga nearly missed his first double-double of the season finishing with 10 points and corralled a team-leading eight rebounds.
The Trailblazers shot 48.5 percent (33-68) from the field, 35 percent (7-20) from three-point range and 70 percent (14-20) from the free throw line.
UT Arlington (14-8, 6-4 WAC) was led a double-double from Raysean Seamster, who finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
Tyran Mason and Cameron Jackson each came off the bench to score 17 points and 10 points, respectively.
How It Happened
A back-and-forth first half saw the teams trade the lead back-and-forth a number of times with the Trailblazers last lead coming at 26-25 after a layup by Trujillo.
A triple by Trujillo with 3:45 to go in the first half brought UT back within one at 30-29 and a jumper by Holt in the final seconds of the half made it 34-33 in favor of UTA at halftime.
The Mavericks continued to lead in the early going of the second half taking a 40-38 lead, but the Trailblazers responded ripping off a 10-0 run to give UT a 48-40 lead.
After the Mavs cut the Trailblazers lead down to three (53-50), a triple from the corner by
Britton Berrett pushed UT to a 56-50 lead.
A tip-in layup by Domingos extended the Trailblazers ahead by eight (58-50), but a 15-4 run for the Mavericks over the next six minutes gave UTA a 65-62 lead with 4:38 remaining in regulation.
A pair of free throws by Holt and back-to-back jumpers by Potter pushed the Trailblazers in the lead, 68-65, but after a triple by UTA tied the game at 68, the teams traded field goals for a 70-70 tie with just under a minute to play.
With UTA leading 72-71, Potter went to the line for a pair of free throws in the final five seconds of regulation. Coming out of a Maverick timeout, Potter sank a free throw to send the game to overtime tied at 72.
A layup in the final seconds of the first overtime by Holt locked up the game at 78 and sent the game to a second extra session.
An early layup by UTA in the second overtime gave the Mavs a 80-78 lead, but the Trailblazers quickly answered back with six straight points for a 84-80 advantage.
Two straight layups by the Mavs tied the game at 84 and with the game on the verge on a third overtime, Trujillo had other plans sinking the game-winning three-pointer with 1.3 seconds remaining as one final attempt by UTA came up short to seal the thrilling victory.

- The Trailblazers defeated UT Arlington for only the second time in their seven meetings against the Mavericks.
- It was the Trailblazers second win in double overtime this season joining a 81-75 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Nov. 14.
