(Arlington, Texas - Feb. 19, 2026) - The Trailblazers saw their six-game winning streak come to an end on Thursday night falling 63-50 to UT Arlington at College Park Center.
Utah Tech (16-12, 9-5 WAC) was held to a season-low 50 points as only a pair of Trailblazers finished with double figures.
Led by the sixth double-double of the season from
Ethan Potter, the senior forward totaled 16 points & 11 rebounds and added two steals and two blocks.
Sophomore guard
Noah Bolanga added 11 points, five rebounds and an assist.
The Trailblazers were held to their second-lowest field goal shooting percentage of the season hitting 34 percent (17-50) from the field, nailed 23.1 percent (6-26) from three-point range and 83.3 percent (10-12) from the free throw line.
UT Arlington (15-12, 7-7 WAC) was led by 13 points from Marcell McCreary and Casmir Chavis added 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field.
Bahsil Laster came off the bench to score 10 points and grab a team-leading nine rebounds.
How It Happened
A three-pointer by
Jusaun Holt gave the Trailblazers' an early lead jumping ahead 3-2 in the opening minute, but the Mavs answered back with a 5-0 run for a 7-3 lead.
A jumper by Holt and a pair of free throws from Bolanga tied the contest at 7-7.
UTA took a 15-11 lead, but a free throw and jumper by Bolanga cut the Mavs' lead to one (15-14).
Five straight points for UTA pushed the Mavs ahead, 20-14 and after UT Arlington led 22-16, the Trailblazers went on an 8-2 run to lock up the game at 24.
A layup by Potter gave the Trailblazers their final lead of the night at 26-24, but UT went cold the final 4:31 of the opening half as the Mavs closed out the half on a 9-0 run.
UTA continued to extend their lead in the second half started the half with a 7-2 run to extend their lead to 40-28.
The Trailblazers answered back with a 13-4 run to pull within three (44-41) with 10:39 to play, but UTA responded with an 8-0 run to jump ahead, 52-41.
A jumper by Potter ended the Mavs' run and an emphatic dunk by Bolanga kept the Trailblazers within seven (57-50), but much like the first half, the Trailblazers went cold down the stretch as they were held scoreless for the final 4:15 of the contest.
Numbers to Know
- The 50 points scored were the third-fewest points in a game by the Trailblazers in the Division I era behind only 49 points scored in a pair of games in 2020-21.
- The Trailblazers led the Mavericks in points off turnovers (15-11), three-pointers made (6-3), free throws made (10-8) & blocks (2-1).
- It was the fifth time in WAC play Potter has grabbed double digit rebounds and it was his fourth double-double in WAC action.
- Utah Tech's 17 field goals made were also a season low.
