Utah Tech freshman linebacker Luke Hansen was named Big Sky Conference co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for his efforts in last Saturday's Trailblazer road conference win at Cal Poly last Saturday. 
 
Hansen enjoyed a banner afternoon against the Mustangs, against which he tied a career high with six total tackles, including his first two collegiate tackles-for-loss and one sack, along with his first collegiate interception.

In fact the freshman's interception, one of six total turnovers the Trailblazer defense forced in the victory, directly led to a Utah Tech touchdown on the very next play from scrimmage midway through the third quarter. 

Utah Tech (1-7/1-4 Big Sky) returns home for a Halloween Big Sky matinee vs. Idaho State this upcoming Saturday. Kickoff inside Greater Zion Stadium is set for 1 p.m. (MT).
