A 3-0 run for Utah Tech extended their lead to 20-10 after a Bengal attack error, but a 5-1 run for ISU trimmed UT's lead to 21-15. That was as close as they could get as a kill & block by Treanor sealed the eight-point set win.
The Trailblazers moved in front 6-3 early in the second set before ripping off six straight points, with Torgerson starting the stretch with a kill and adding two service aces while Reese put down three kills to make it 12-3.
After a UT service error ended the run, Treanor had consecutive kills to push the advantage to 15-4, and after another ISU point, the Blazers went on a 5-0 run, a stretch that included blocks by Shimada and a kill apiece from
Nana Asiata and Treanor, to built a 20-5 lead.
The Bengals scored five of the next eight points, but the final two points for the Trailblazers came after a kill by Roe & a block by Reese to close out the set 25-10.
The third set saw Idaho State jump out to a 12-9 lead, but three straight points for the Trailblazers knotted up the set at 12 after a ISU attack error and back-to-back kills by Asiata.
After Idaho State briefly went back in front, 13-12, a quick 4-1 run for the Trailblazers brought them back ahead 16-14, but the Bengals rallied back to lock up the set at 19 with a kill.
