(St George, UT – Oct 10, 2026) – Utah Tech men's soccer drops its third game on the homestand with a 2-0 loss at the hands of UNLV.
The first few scoring opportunities went the way of the Trailblazers (1-9-2, 0-3-1 MW) as
Mitch Williams and
Chakib Bassou both got shots off in consecutive chances, but could not put one on target.
The first shot on goal of the game also was the first goal of the game, which came in the 14th minute as Manolo Vazquez gave the Rebels (7-3-2, 3-1-0 MW) an early 1-0 lead.
Just over 15 minutes of game time later, UNLV drew a foul in the box from
Ace Downey. After video assisted review, it was confirmed and the Rebels were awarded a penalty kick. Maxim Scordo stepped up and capitalized on the chance to double the lead.
The Trailblazers were able to muster five shots in the second half, but just one ended up being on target, which the UNLV keeper was able to corral.
The Rebels were able to withstand the late push by UT, taking the three points in a 2-0 win.
