FB - Trailblazers Picked to Finish Ninth in 2025 UAC Preseason Coaches Poll

The United Athletic Conference officially unveiled its 2025 preseason all-conference team and preseason coaches poll on Wednesday at the conference's Media Day event at the BetMGM Sports Lounge inside Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville.
 
Utah Tech (10 pts) was voted to finish ninth in the UAC preseason coaches poll, which unveiled on Wednesday. The Trailblazer program did not have a student-athlete voted to either the conference's preseason offense, defense or special teams lists. 
 
Tarleton State topped the poll with eight of the nine first-place votes and 80 total points, followed by defending UAC champion Abilene Christian, which collected one first-place nod and 68 points to finish second in the poll. 
 
Eastern Kentucky was picked to finish third with 59 points, followed by Southern Utah (50 pts) in fourth, Central Arkansas (45 pts) in fifth, and Austin Peay (41 pts) in sixth, while North Alabama (26 pts) and West Georgia (26 pts) both tied for seventh place. 
 
Tarleton State senior quarterback Victor Gabalis was selected at the conference's preseason offensive player of the year, while Abilene Christian graduate linebacker Will Shaffer was tabbed as the league's preseason defensive player of the year. 
 
Utah Tech kicks off its sixth season of NCAA D-I FCS play on Saturday, August 30, when the Trailblazers welcome Big Sky Conference power UC Davis to Greater Zion Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m. (MDT).
