Utah Tech wrapped up the non-conference portion of its 2025 regular season slate on the wrong end of a 6-2 decision at UC Davis on Tuesday night at Dobbins Stadium.

The Trailblazers (21-28) surrendered all six runs over the first five innings. Utah Tech managed to crack the scoreboard in the sixth when
Ryan Kroepel doubled off the wall in right field to chase home
Ty Johnsen, who drew a lead-off walk.

Utah Tech managed to score another run in the seventh on a
Levi Randall run-scoring ground out. However the Blazers could not draw any closer as UC Davis (25-27) erased base hits in both the final two innings with double plays.

Kroepel wound up going 2-for-4 on the night, which included the game's lone extra base hit. The sophomore third baseman also extended his season-long hit streak to 13-straight games, and his streak of multi-hit games to seven-straight.

Meanwhile,
Kyle McDaniel singled and drew a walk to extend his school NCAA Division-I era record on-base streak to 35-straight games, and his current hit streak to eight-straight games. McDaniel's streak now is tied for the second-longest streak in Utah Tech's NCAA era overall (Tyler Blair – 35 games, 2014).

Utah Tech will close out the 2025 regular season with a three-game series at WAC-leading Sacramento State this weekend. Game one of the series will be played on Thursday night beginning at 7 p.m. (MT), followed by game two on Friday at 5 p.m. (MT), and the series finale on Saturday at 1 p.m. (MT).
