(St. George, Utah - March 22, 2025) - The Trailblazers wrapped up their series against Utah Valley on Saturday afternoon falling 14-0 in five innings on Stand Up To Cancer Day at Karl Brooks Field.
Utah Tech (12-19, 3-6 WAC) was held to a pair of hits with singles from
Cassidy Hornung and
Baylee Howley.
In the circle,
Riley Price made her 13th start of the season tossing a pair of innings allowing six hits, five earned before giving way to
Cemryn Pickett for a pair of outs.
Sauren Garton closed out the contest throwing the final 2.1 innings holding Utah Valley scoreless and struck out three.
How It Happened
Utah Valley (8-19, 2-6 WAC) got the scoring started in the first inning with four runs that included a three-run home run by Emma Haygood.
After a run in the second pushed their lead to 5-0, a nine-run third inning extended their lead to 14-0 as the Wolverines smacked their second three-run home run of the contest by Megan Gibbs.
A single by Hornung in the third broke up UVU's no-hit bid and Howley added a leadoff single in the fifth as the Trailblazers loaded the bases, but
Lakaiya-Braessia Kahahawai-Kekona went down on strikes to close out the game.
