Utah Tech head football coach Lance Anderson announced on Wednesday the addition of 13 high school seniors to his 2025 signing class.
Â
Wednesday's signing group is made up of six offensive players, with three offensive linemen, two wide receivers and one tight end. Utah Tech also added seven more players on the defensive side of the ball, including two defensive linemen, three linebackers and two defensive backs.
Â
The 13 additional signees join a class that featured 13 December signees, along with 13 players Utah Tech added from the transfer portal and two more from the junior college ranks in January prior to the start of the 2025 spring semester.Â
Â
Of the 13 players the Trailblazers inked from the transfer portal, 10 came from FBS programs, including seven from Power Four conferences and three from Group of Five conferences, while three more were added from FCS conferences. Â
Â
In all, Coach Anderson welcomed 44 total newcomers on to his 2025 roster, including three signees who recently returned from two-year LDS Church missions.Â
Â
In all, Utah Tech added 23 defensive newcomers ahead of this upcoming season, including nine linebackers, eight defensive backs and six defensive linemen.Â
Â
Meanwhile, nine offensive linemen make up nearly half of Utah Tech's 20 additions on offense, along with four wide receivers, four tight ends, two running backs and one athlete. The Trailblazers also signed a punter on special teams.
Â
Nine different states are represented in this year's class, including 14 from California, 12 from Utah, seven from Arizona, six from Nevada, and one each from Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Oregon and Texas.Â
Â
Utah Tech's 2025 football schedule features an even split with six home games and six road dates, and includes match-ups against six 2024 NCAA Division I FCS playoff teams.Â
Three of the Trailblazers' four non-conference games will come against Big Sky Conference opponents, beginning with their season opener against FCS power UC Davis inside Greater Zion Stadium on Saturday, August 30.
Â
The Blazers will kick off their third season of United Athletic Conference play with back-to-back road games, beginning at Austin Peay (Sept. 27), before embarking on their first-ever visit to "The Natural State" to play at Central Arkansas (Oct. 4).Â
