(Las Vegas, Nev. - Feb. 16, 2025) - Utah Tech women's tennis was toppled by Kansas City 5-2 to close out its weekend in Sin City on Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
At the number five singles spot, senior
Laura Coulome dispatched KC senior Ashley Jacobson 6-3, 6-0.
Junior
Raquel Roshak picked up her first victory of the season in her hometown by defeating freshman Annalise Smith 7-6, 6-4 in the number six singles spot.
Sophomore
Mariana Zurita and junior
Nicole Kells secured their second doubles win of the weekend, besting the Roo pair of Jacobson and junior Maria Bylina 6-4 in the third doubles match.
At the number one singles spot, Zurita forced a tiebreaker but fell to senior Joana Miralles Cardona 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 (10-6).
Utah Tech next welcomes New Mexico State to Trailblazer Tennis Courts for UT's home opener on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m.
