Utah Tech men's golf coach
Brad Sutterfield announced on Tuesday the signing of four talented prep players during the early November signing period.
Â
Three of the four signees are Utah high school standouts in
Tyse Boman from Corner Canyon HS,
Noah Goeckeritz from Lone Peak HS, and
Jack Summerhays from Farmington HS, along with Arizona's third-ranked prep player in
Chase Cesarek from Tucson's Catalina Foothills HS.Â
Â
Boman (Draper, Utah) was part of three-straight Utah 6A state championships at CCHS, including the 2025 state tournament, where he finished tied for fifth with fellow signee Summerhays at minus-4 139 to earn all-state honors.Â
Â
Boman, who was a four time all-region selection and is ranked No. 3 in the current Utah 6A season rankings, has played junior golf since he was seven years old, and has won several junior tournaments and was part of Team Utah that won the PGA Junior League national championship.
Â
"Tyse choosing Utah Tech makes this a great day for the Utah Tech golf program," Coach Sutterfield said. "Tyse brings a level of maturity to the game that will translate well to the college level. He is a very mature player with an incredible short game and huge upside. He is an outstanding young man with great academics and an amazing work ethic. I couldn't be more excited that he chose to be a Trailblazer!"
Â
Goeckeritz (Alpine, Utah), who is ranked 18
th in the current Utah 6A rankings, helped lead LPHS to a 2025 6A state runner-up finish behind Corner Canyon last month, and was the Knights' top finisher t-ninth place at minus-4 140.Â
Â
In addition, Goeckeritz was part of Lone Peak's team win at the inaugural Black Desert High School Invitational, where he tied for third overall as the Knights triumphed over some of the best high school golf programs from across the country.
Â
"Noah has huge upside with his game," Sutterfield said "He is a relative newcomer to golf and has made huge strides in a short time. Noah is an extremely hard worker and dedicated player. He truly loves the game and that will serve him well for his future. We are glad he chose to be a Trailblazer!"
Â
Summerhays (Farmington, Utah), who is the son of professional golfer Daniel Summerhays and nephew of professional player Boyd Summerhays, will join the Trailblazer program after he returns from a two-year LDS Church mission.
Â
Summerhays helped guide Farmington HS to a region crown and a sixth-place team finish at last month's 6A Championships, where he tied his future Trailblazer teammate Boman for fifth-place on the player leaderboard.
Â
Summerhays, who is the second-rated golfer in the Utah 6A ranks, won region medalist honors in 2024 and was a 2025 Utah State Amateur quarterfinalist this past July.Â
"What a great day for our golf program - Jack is not only an outstanding golfer but a great person as well," Sutterfield said. "He has an infectious personality that attracts everyone to him and the energy he brings on a daily basis will be a huge benefit to our program.Â
Â
"I have watched Jack play through junior golf and one thing that stands out is his extreme competitiveness on the golf course but not only that he cheers everybody on that he plays with," Sutterfield added. "He comes from a great family whose golf line runs deep. We couldn't be more excited that he chose to be a Trailblazer!"
Â
Cesarek, who is the younger brother of current junior Trailblazer women's golfer Mia Cesarek, is currently a senior on the CFHS boy's team that is ranked No. 1 among the Arizona Division II programs.Â
Â
As one of the top junior players in the entire state, he has helped lead the Peregrine Falcons to three-straight region titles and a third-place finish at the state championships earlier this month, where he finished 11
th-overall. In addition, Cesarek was named the 2025 Southern Arizona Boys Golf All-Stars Golfer of the Year.
Â
"We're incredibly excited that Chase chose Utah Tech University for his collegiate golf career," Sutterfield noted. "Chase is an outstanding young man who is awesome in the classroom and on the golf course. He is an incredibly hard worker with a love for the game and the ability to go low on the golf course."
