Potter Selected to Preseason All-WAC Team

Potter is the second Trailblazer to earn Preseason All-WAC honors joining Hunter Schofield in 2020-21.

(Arlington, Texas – Oct. 28, 2025) - Senior forward Ethan Potter was named to the Preseason All-WAC Team on Tuesday morning while the Trailblazers were picked to finish sixth in the preseason coaches poll.
 
A transfer from Utah Valley, the Layton, Utah native arrives at Utah Tech after spending his first three seasons at Utah Valley.

Playing in 80 career games for the Wolverines, Potter has totaled 459 career points and 293 career rebounds.

Coming off playing in 29 contests last season for the WAC regular season champions, Potter averaged 7.0 points & 4.1 rebounds per game, marks that were each good for fourth-best on the Wolverines.

Scoring double figures in six contests, Potter led UVU in scoring at North Dakota finishing with a season-best 20 points and grabbed a season-high eight rebounds in three contests.

Potter comes into the season with a career high of 23 points vs. California Baptist in the 2024 WAC Tournament and 15 rebounds in a win at Tarleton State in 2024.

The Trailblazers tallied nine points in the preseason poll while California Baptist earned the top spot as the preseason favorite registering five first-place votes and 33 total points.

Utah Valley, who went 15-1 in the WAC last season, was picked second with 29 points followed by Abilene Christian (27 pts.), UT Arlington (22 pts.), Tarleton State (19 pts.) in the third through fifth spots with Southern Utah (8 pts.) rounded out the poll.

Joining Potter on the Preseason All-WAC team was Preseason Player of the Year Dominique Daniels Jr., a guard from California Baptist who returns after being an All-WAC First Team selection last season.

The team was rounded out by forwards Bradyn Hubbard from Abilene Christian & Rayseasn Seamster from UT Arlington and guard Trevan Leonhardt from Utah Valley.
  
The Trailblazers enter their sixth and final season in the WAC with six returners & eight newcomers and open the season at South Dakota on Nov. 3.
